Welcome to SmartGrader! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the SmartGrader platform. By purchasing, installing, or using SmartGrader, you agree to these terms. Please read carefully.
1. Introduction
SmartGrader is a computer-based testing (CBT) and academic records management platform designed for schools. It supports local hosting or cloud integration, allowing students to take exams while school administrators manage, store, and analyze results securely.
2. Account Registration & Roles

School Administrators (e.g., Principals) can create and manage school accounts.

Exam Officers can create and manage tests, exams, and academic sessions.
-
Students can only take exams/tests and view permitted results.
-
Schools are fully responsible for protecting login credentials and controlling internal access.
3. Pricing & Payment Structure
-
SmartGrader requires a one-time license fee per school (price may vary).
-
After this, schools are required to pay a yearly Session Renewal fee for continued cloud access and support.

The Session Renewal fee is 45% of the original license cost, and it includes:

Up to 6 cloud backups per academic session
-
Cloud data storage
-
Access to new academic session creation
-
Security updates and feature upgrades
-

No new session can be created until the previous session is renewed.

Additional backups beyond the 6 provided may require deletion of old backups or payment for extra slots.
4. Refund Policy
-
Refunds are only available within 2 days of purchase, and only if the software has not been extensively used.

After 2 days or if substantial usage is detected, the purchase is considered final and non-refundable.

Eligible refunds will be processed within 7 business days after internal verification.
5. Hosting & Network Usage
-
SmartGrader can operate offline via local Wi-Fi network or online via internet hosting for cloud backup.
-
The number of connected student/client devices depends on the strength of the host device and network.
-
Vickels Studios is not liable for poor user experience due to weak hardware or unstable network conditions.
6. Data Storage & Privacy
-
Schools retain full ownership of their student records, exam data, and session logs.
-
SmartGrader only stores data necessary for cloud backups and synchronization.
-
Data deletion can be requested at any time via email, except where required by law.

Schools are encouraged to manage their backup slots wisely; only 6 backups per academic session are allowed unless extra capacity is purchased.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree NOT to:

Share SmartGrader with unauthorized third parties.

Reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or tamper with the app.

Use SmartGrader for anything other than authorized educational use.

Exploit any vulnerabilities to access restricted features.
8. Support & Maintenance

Technical support is available for:

Installation assistance
-
Cloud sync issues
-
Feature-related bugs
-

9. Service Availability & Downtime

While we strive for 99.9% uptime, SmartGrader's cloud services may occasionally be unavailable due to:

Maintenance

Server issues

Internet service disruption

Vickels Studios is not liable for loss of exams, scores, or disruptions resulting from internet outages or system crashes outside our control.
10. Software Updates

Updates may include:

Security patches
-
New features
-
System improvements
-

Schools will be notified of major updates and may be required to install them to ensure proper functionality.
11. Termination of Service

Vickels Studios reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:

Non-compliance with these terms

Abuse of the system
-
Attempts to manipulate SmartGrader infrastructure

Schools may discontinue usage at any time. No refunds will be provided for previously paid fees unless explicitly stated.
12. Modifications to These Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. Changes will be communicated via email or in-app notifications. Continued use of SmartGrader after an update constitutes agreement with the revised terms.
